X92 Wrecking Crane

The McComb X92 wrecking derrick or cane was built in 1913 by the Bucyrus Company. It was one of the last pieces of steam equipment used on the Illinois Central. Crew members lived in rail cars at the scene of the derailment until the wreckage was cleared. Unfortunately, the actual crane itself is no longer with us, but it's history is preserved in the museum.
