McComb ICRR Shop Employees are pictured in 1888. The young man on the right is William John Taylor who began work as a 14 year old tinner. Fifty-five years later he retired as an engineer.

During World War II, the McComb Railroad Shops employed over 2000 people. United States Postmaster General Frank Walker and Mrs. Walker stopped in McComb on October 31, 1941.
